Is it the case with you that you don't have any problems in creative, but it jerks (not smoothly) in arena?

First a question: do you play console or PC? Since consoles have significantly less power than PCs, the frames tend to drop.
In general, however, the creative mode runs much more smoothly because much less landscape and players have to be rendered.
I'm on the pc, always have over 200 FPS, but sometimes they drop to 20 and it doesn't run smoothly
It could be that the FPS drops from DirectX12, because that's still the beta
I also play on a PC and have a 120 Hz monitor. In-game I set my FPS to 144 then you don't notice the drops that way, but when they drop from 200 to 20 something is wrong somehow. Maybe the workload on your PC is so high?
So until now I've only had 1-3 drops to 20, but that was after an Nvidia update, and that's normal. But mostly they drop to 60-80 out of 144, I think it could be because of Directx12 because it's still the beta, but my game is still not smooth in arena.
