Do you think the hype is coming back with the live event today and the new season on Wednesday?
How do you define "hype"? Of course, much less play the game but Epic always brings in new things that the community hits so that Epic can always stay afloat. Let's see how many will continue to play after the live event.
The hype is long gone, I would say since Season 9. Just because it has a large number of players is far from being a hype😉

The hype was only there at the beginning when the game was completely new, everyone was bad at it and the masses could have fun. In the meantime it has a fan base like any other game, but it no longer plays the uropa and the cat of everyone.
In any case, it is no longer in the hype. The times in the hype were the starting times as well as the most popular Season Season 7, you know Winterroyale breaking records of the number of games.
As I said, the game is not in the hype, but a lot of people play it because they enjoy it.

That was maybe hyped up to Season 7 or so, then the hype went back and Fortnite "2" got a bit of hype again, but it quickly went away.
And no, I don't think there will be any hype again because the game is dead.
