I W (14) sometimes feel excluded at school. I do not get bullied or excluded, I just feel like sometimes I shut myself out. During breaks I sometimes sit in my seat next to my best friend and some boys from the class, they laugh and make jokes but I do not talk and just smile fake. I feel like I'm not as childish as she is. Once, a teacher asks who volunteers to read a book more than once a week and I was the only one who showed it. While others from my class play Fortnite, I read at home or continue writing my book about a prince and a magician. Nobody knows, that I write a book, it would be embarrassing, even if my mother would find it wonderful because she herself always wanted to write a book. My writing style is getting better and I think I'm very good for my age. Am I boring, or just grown up?
You are by no means boring! You're just a bit different than the others.
I was like that too. I wrote with 10 novels and even performed one in front of the class. This was also printed and distributed to all. - I had only made the mistake that I had painted the symbol of a well-known publisher about it. One said then: "That's not yours," annoying.
There was then a question round of the students to me. One asked: "How did you come to write?" - Me: "Just like that". Then the teacher to me: "You must answer correctly"
Your interest in literature is certainly exceptional for your grade. No wonder, if you could show alone. With your teacher you will certainly stay in positive memory.
Am I boring, or just grown up? You are unique and have an individual personality! Confidently use it. This also means that other people's opinions about you must not interest you: you can never please everyone and be "Everybody's Darling". Stay cool and talk to people who understand you.
My writing style is getting better and better. As your vocabulary grows and your writing style improves, keep it up! With greater self-confidence, you will soon also feel the need to verbally show your progress in conversations and in the lecture: When you read aloud, you can pay attention to modulation and tension in your voice. With a 3-minute abstract, you can practice at home, structure your thoughts, and present your arguments in such a way that they have the greatest impact.
You are not boring. You have other interests, develop yourself further. Writing or reading a book does a lot more than gambling every day. It also shows that you have and have fancy. Because when you read a book, you do not just read words. There's a movie going on in your head. That fascinates me about books.
You are currently dealing with people who do not have the same horizon as you. You can't blame them, because the world has become digital.
Stick to your principles. Do what YOU enjoy. There comes a time when you meet people who have the same interests. Then you can exchange ideas and you can have a say. Until then, bite your teeth.
