Fortnite enemy search?

If I kill all the enemies in the area where I landed, it takes a long time to see an opponent and sometimes it takes so long that I can't find any opponents until the endgame. Do you have tips on how to find opponents faster, it has to do with luck. But are they mostly in the zone or where are they often the most?

I would be happy if I got an answer.

Tip from me; If I can't find any opponents, I'll shoot up a couple of times to let the enemies hear me
