Build Ps4 database?

My ps4 has very frequent menu lags and I have read that if you rebuild the database it should not happen anymore?

My question is whether this will result in saved game progress or will any data be deleted on the ps4 like fortnite?

A friend of mine did the whole thing sometimes, since his Ps4 lags often had. He helped it and he has lost no data. But whether that always works without data loss, I do not know.
