I don't know much about fortnite, but I can tell you one thing: if you get scanned, you can't even go to epic games and complain, as their agbs prohibit selling accounts. The best thing to do is to sell the account to a friend who you see in real life so that you can keep putting pressure on it if he doesn't give you any money

With something like that you never get as much as the Acc is actually worth. Nobody pays that much for a few skins at once.
Can you really go to jail for this? Thought the worst thing that can happen is that they lock your account and give you a "ban".

Not so far now. The account will be closed in any case if it is discovered. Epic Games will (in rare cases) take further action. For example, the YouTube account was terminated by a well-known creator.

So Epic Games once sued - so it can't be ruled out.

Well I think that was really just an intimidation tactic, easy to see from the fact that Epic claims the cheaters violate copyright law.
Looks to me as if you can expect a "vengeance" in the worst case, but I don't think it would turn out to be anything.
