If you want to aim for success, there will of course always be some that are more advanced, but if you don't play you never get promoted anyway, so that's why. I've been playing genshin Impact for a while, always making the same monsters, but quite cute.
So it's always worth it, but if you really want to become a very good player you should wait for a new game or invest a lot of time in one that already exists
