Have an i3 2100 ONLY play Fortnite sometimes Valorant

I have really annoying jerks in both games that sometimes last a second with Valorant or longer with Fortnite but not that often

is installed

an i3 2100

hd 7750

8 GB DDR3 RAM

a 500 GB HDD

Dell Optiplex 790 motherboard

Dell Optiplex 790 power supply (265 watt)

Dell Optiplex 790 chassis

The graphics card is not playing in 720 p

in Fortnite in Performance mode and in Valorant on maximum settings If the graphics card never reaches over 60 percent load…

It looks different with the CPU, which is mostly between 70 and 99 sometimes 100 percent full…

With 40 to 50 percent of the stuttering, the cpu is "only" busy in the 80s range, so could it also be the HDD?

Games with Vsync so set to 60 fps except for the annoying stutters, the game runs smoothly

ke

The hard drive is probably not the problem. An HDD is the only hard drive that is not optimal, but it doesn't cause problems.

So on the CPU after all? If so, an upgrade to an i5 2400 would make sense. If the mainboard allows a new pc, I can't get myself at the moment and the cpus is available for 15 euro

Ba

Could be due to a lot:

Cpu

GPU

temperature

Your CPU is at the limit, 80% with 4 cores are 3 out of 4 that shoot at the limit, it doesn't always have to be 100%.

What can be a possible factor with the GPU is the 1GB smaller VRAM, when it is busy, which can also happen quickly with Fortnite, your RAM is used, it is quite slow and this CAN cause these stuttering

Temperatures, yo check it out, the GPU or CPU may have to slow down for a short time and something like this can happen.

Ba

You would switch from a 2/4 kernel to a native 4 kernel.

Real kernels are better, but you shouldn't expect much from them

me

Temperature is good cpu 67 degrees max. Under full load and gpu never over 53

me

In valorant there's the stuttering even on low and there the GPU is only 23 percent used because the whole vram is not used I think

Ba

Again, usage has nothing to do with VRAM usage.

In Cyberpunk 2077 my 3080 only has 50% utilization, but still uses 8-9 GB of VRAM.

You can check the whole thing with tools, e.g. Msi Afterburner

me

Okay, it would now make more sense to upgrade the cpu or gpu, neither is possible

Ba

With this hardware yes, but you have to calculate with 600-800 euro because you have to have everything new.

me

Would fortnite run well in performance mode with an i5 2400 and a gtx 750 ti 2gb in 720p (performance mode)?

me

Which cpu and gpu would you recommend to me from the used market

ke

The upgrade can be worthwhile. For 150 euro that's not wrong

me

What should i upgrade to? In any case, don't want to spend a lot of money

ke

Meant 15 euro
