Fortnite still pictures Why?

I have been playing Fortnite for a long time and have never had problems with my old PC in this game. Now I have a few newer parts and have times and sometimes times fixed images in Fortnite.

My old PC, however, was much worse and everything worked fine, even with much less fps and 2 fans.

Now I have an Amd Ryzen 5 2600 processor, the Asus TUF gaming mainbord and the Sharkoon tg5 rgb case with lots of fans. My graphics card is the 960.

My brother has built everything for me and the PC runs otherwise synonymous flawlessly. In the game I have constant 110 FPS, the Cpu gets only 58 degrees warm. At the back really only lukewarm air out and games like Black Ops 4 run perfectly, without lags and without stills.

The stills are in Fortnite sometimes longer, sometimes shorter. I've already completely reset the pc. Fortnite then downloaded again, but always the same problem.

I really despair, sometimes it just is not fun to play like that. Maybe someone can tell me why this could be?

Kn

Have I ever heard that sometimes there are problems with Ryzen in some games.

See if you can update your video card drivers, or reset to older ones, maybe that will help.

For one person, it also helped to change the resolution in the Nvidia control panel, but you probably do not feel like playing stretched…

Do you have the 2 or 4 GB version of the 960? Pay attention to the RAM or VRAM usage while you are playing, sounds after reload jerks when the game has to reload data from the hard drive.

Mu

I'll take care of that. Is the 4GB variant.

Mu

Drivers are all up to date. Can't change anything. Stretched gambling would not be so. Sounds bad

Kn

Did you rebuild Windows when you changed CPU and Co?

Mu

Yes everything new

Kn

I think this is s.der graphics card… Do you have only trailer from the picture or freezes the sound synonymous?

Mu

Only the picture

Mu

Where everything runs smoothly in other games. Sometimes I do that on the internet too.

Kn

Hmm, that's really funny… In the Windows Event Viewer, you have nothing to do? Install MSI Afterburner and look at the workload, FPS, temperatures and co and see what happens at the moment. Can also be displayed as a graph.

Mu

I also think that this has something to do with the video card, which is very strange, because it is only in this game. I noticed that the fans of the graphics card go out when I have a freeze frame. And 30 seconds after the statue has stopped, they start again.

Kn

Okay, that's really strange. So I've read from different people, no matter which graphics card, that they sometimes have micro-stutters or framedrops in Fortnite, but 30 seconds is extreme!

Could be that the graphics card is broken, but I think the problem is more with the drivers, since it is only the case with Fortnite. Look with MSI Afterburner as it comes.

And I would look for older Graka drivers.

Mu

On what exactly should I pay attention to msi afterburner?

Kn

You will be shown in the corner so the utilization and temperature of the components, if you have set this at Afterburner (there are many videos on YouTube). Maybe you can see that the video card is getting too warm or the VRAM is emptying. Just let's see if anything unusual strikes.

Mu

So with the RAM utilization, nothing changes. The GPU utilization and CPU usage goes down, as well as the power.

Kn

Okay blatantly, I've never heard of that… How high is the CPU usage just before the trailer comes? I think it's up to the CPU.

What are the temperatures of CPU and GPU?

Mu

GPU TEMP: from 62 to 47

CPU TEMP: from 56 to 50

CPU utilization: from 40 to 5

Kn

Okay, I think the mistake is somewhere else. I still have 2 ideas:

Check the memory and hard drive for errors. There are programs for the RAM, the hard drive can also be checked with Windows.

Actually, everything would have to hang, but you never know…

Mu

Problem solved by the way. The SSD is defective.

Kn

Great that you found it!
