I got a PC from a work colleague (I asked for one to play with) and first downloaded the free game Fortnite to test it, but the performance is too weak and even if I turn the graphics down completely I still only manage 30 FPS, I know someone like me can improve that or whether I can order something that makes the performance better. For example, you can order a new processor or graphics card. Or more RAM.
You only have to say which parts you have just installed in your PC.
Just go to the Task Manager.
You probably need a graphics card, but can you describe your PC in more detail?
Which brand is the PC and which model (e.g. Fujitsu Esprimo P500)
How much ram?
Which CPU?
Which power supply?

Sounds more like a PC that is not at all suitable for gaming.
If you're unlucky, a new, better, graphics card won't be enough. If the processor is also weak, you may be able to calculate with a new processor, motherboard, RAM bar, … You can buy a new PC right away.
The question would have been nice if the hardware of the PC had been listed. But as a layman you have to find them first.
The hardware is nicely listed under Start / Windows System / Control Panel, in this window on Device Manager, a window opens again and there, open the tabs Graphics card + Processor, take a picture of it, and integrate it here. Then we don't know how much RAM is installed, but it would be a start.
