What should I pay attention to if I want to buy a tablet for the next two years?

I want to buy a tablet so that I can write a maximum of notes on it (with or without a pen), streaming, as a music player at home and simple toddler games for my son. Please no discussion that something like this does not belong in the hands of children, another topic.

I don't want to have to buy one again before the next two years. My things should run smoothly and be of good quality, because TV is unattractive for us. I've thought of Android, but I can hardly think of any brands that guarantee the next two major Android updates and the usual security updates. Or is that no longer relevant nowadays? I was thinking of Samsung Tab S6 lite or something similar. It shouldn't play Fortnite, but rather virtual, interactive children's books and the like.

There's an apple on the back and you buy from apple. Otherwise maybe it has no edges. Like the air 4 or pro

I would take the Tab S7+.

Has everything it takes, is not slow and everything will work without any problems.

In addition, it is not expensive.

When choosing a device, you should pay particular attention to the processor, RAM, battery and storage space. You should also ask the manufacturer how long the device and installed OS will receive support. If you take all that into account and your budget allows it, I would tend to recommend an iPad from Apple.

In contrast to many other manufacturers and devices, Apple usually offers significantly longer support than others when it comes to updates. However, you may have to cut back on storage space. However, there are also cheaper offers from Samsung and Co, which may also be considered.

But Samsung is also known for the fact that it often ends after two years, right? And most of the devices are already from 2020, which means that my request for two years of support has already failed. Apple has tablets from 330-1000 euro, but I don't know whether a cheaper iPad will suffice for my needs. Can I use the chip to orient myself to the IPhones? I have an xr and an 11er privately and both meet my requirements at least technically.

Yes that's right. I have expressed myself a bit misleadingly in this regard. Compared to other manufacturers, Apple just offers the longest support. But if other things are more important to you, such as the possibility of memory expansion using an SD card, you should just look around.

My tip, maybe buy a refurbished used device instead of a new one. In this way you can possibly save a lot of money. You have to decide for yourself whether this is worthwhile for you in the end. Just mention it as an option here. In the end, it also depends on your budget.

Select a tablet with a good high quality Snapdragon (depends on your budget as well), select a solid amount of RAM and storage and it should last you very well for 3-4 years depending on brand and conditions in which you keep it.
