What should I pay attention to if I want to buy a tablet for the next two years?

I want to buy a tablet so that I can write a maximum of notes on it (with or without a pen), streaming, as a music player at home and simple toddler games for my son. Please no discussion that something like this does not belong in the hands of children, another topic.

I don't want to have to buy one again before the next two years. My things should run smoothly and be of good quality, because TV is unattractive for us. I've thought of Android, but I can hardly think of any brands that guarantee the next two major Android updates and the usual security updates. Or is that no longer relevant nowadays? I was thinking of Samsung Tab S6 lite or something similar. It shouldn't play Fortnite, but rather virtual, interactive children's books and the like.

My tip, maybe buy a refurbished used device instead of a new one. In this way you can possibly save a lot of money. You have to decide for yourself whether this is worthwhile for you in the end. Just mention it as an option here. In the end, it also depends on your budget.

Select a tablet with a good high quality Snapdragon (depends on your budget as well), select a solid amount of RAM and storage and it should last you very well for 3-4 years depending on brand and conditions in which you keep it.
