Do I have to be an activated credit card when buying Glow Skin in Fortnite?

I would like to buy the skin in Fortnite (the skin for 0.00 euro bla bla).

My question, does it have to be an activated card?

I have one, but it is not activated yet.

I'm just guessing:

The point of the thing is that in the future you will buy more things that are offered to you. The free part should only lure you there so that you can register with your credit card. And once you've done that, you're sure to buy something there. Not today, not tomorrow, but certainly next year.

Do they test whether the card is active and resilient? I guess so.
