I would like to know how to fix my problem. So I have a PC with a headphone jack and a micro jack and I like to play Fortnite, only when I play and try to talk to someone it doesn't work, my partner can't hear me. My headphones work perfectly and also have a microphone. Only when I plug my cable from the headphones into the headphone connection you can hear me and only I hear the noises of the game. When I plug the cable into the microphone connection, I can't hear anything and my partner can't hear me either.

Then you definitely have a headset with a stereo plug with additional function (see:

Microphone and headphones problem on pc

https://de.m.wikipedia.org/...ierpolig)) - i.e. 4 contacts for ground, right, left and microphone

Your PC only has a) one (output) stereo socket with 3 contacts for ground, right and left, and b) one (input) mono socket with 2 contacts, i.e. Ground and microphone.

Only the signal for the right "auricle" and the left "auricle" comes through the stereo socket. Your stereo jack can't pick up the microphone signal.

Solutions:

1.) There are adapters available so that all signals can be brought to the corresponding socket. (e.g. On https://www.amazon.de/...00JQFU3ZW)

2.) Or you happen to have a 4-pin socket on the front of your PC or on the monitor (which is connected via USB, for example) that also takes the microphone signal with it.

3.) Or there are also active (external) sound cards e.g. Also in some USB hubs that can be connected to the PC via USB

So I have a USB 2.0 plug and a 3.0 and a micro input and headphone input on the front
