My brother has been wanting a gaming PC for a while. Since Christmas is just around the corner, I wanted to surprise him. The PC should be suitable for Apex Legends, Fortnite and Rocket League and cost around 500 euro. Can also be just over it. Anyone have a few types, am new to the computer business.
If you don't want to see a long face on your brother's first use, you have to invest a few hundred euro more. Or you only spend a lot of money on the relevant parts and save on those who do not play a role in terms of performance, e.g. Drives and housings and also do without disco frills such as RGB lighting.
you can also play on low level with "well" - graphics but if e.g. Some games require minimum standards, then there's a layer in the shaft.
the best thing to do is to find out what minimum requirements the desired games need and use them as a guide.
You can find good tips for putting together the best components in 3 price and performance levels in the trade magazines: gamestar and pc-games, or on their websites.
500 euro are quite steep, but games can be played in 1080p and reduced graphics settings without any problems (GTA 5, Fortnite, Rocket League, …)
The price performance is often the best in the entry-level segment anyway!
So my recommendations:
CPU: Ryzen 3 3100
GPU: Geforce GTX 1650
RAM: 8gb 3200mhz (if there's still something in the budget, use 12 or 16 gb, 8 are already very borderline)
400 watt power supply
mATX mainboard
Something is still missing, but these are the most important components.
At 500 euro, each euro has to be turned over three times. Have fun
