Link Fortnite pc account to ps4?

My friend gave me his pc account as a present but when I try to log in via my ps4 I get an error message that says: This Epic account was previously connected to another external account. Your Epic account can only be connected to the previous external account, not a new one

As far as I know, epic games has removed the function "Link Accounts". The action could be done up to a certain date. Which is unfortunately no longer possible. Find it a shame because I also have an account that I would like to link.
