I played it once and I don't understand this hype. For me it is just boring in my eyes.

Me too. I also don't understand what's so great about the game.
Yes, no idea what is so great about it that you land and then a short time later you get freaked out the game
So I think it's ok for in between, only it annoys me that if I want to gamble (I generally gamble very rarely) I still have to wait 1 hour because there's another update and I therefore lose my temper again, and I somehow can't understand if you put money into the game. Otherwise I think it's a really cool game.
Yes, it's solid, but I still don't understand the hype
It just has a lot of what a classic hype game does: colorful graphics, action, variety (different seasons, etc.), "funny" features (dances, skins that are sometimes not easy to take seriously), etc.). It's also that games that you can play from time to time are simply more popular. With games with a story and open world you have to invest many hours, while with Fortnite you can just play a little bit without problems, and to get something you have to spend money anyway. So in itself, Fortnite just chopped off little by little what could trigger a hype, and thus triggered one.
