Wanted to get SSds for my new PC, get the Samsung 1TB for just under 160 euro and then only install them or prefer a 500GB NVMe and a 500GB SATA SSD? I don't know how it looks with the lifespan, do you know if a SATA or NVMe lasts longer?
I don't play too many games (GTA, COD, Fortnite, WWZ, ARK etc.)
I use the PC for gaming, editing and office work so everything.
What would you recommend me, thanks in advance
You can go to ssd if the data is not so important back then I had an 860 evo with 250gb for 150 euro leuft until today without problems it would have to run for about 2 to 3 years
That depends on how much memory you need. 500 gb is normally sufficient. There should be no difference in the lifespan.
I would rather take 1TB 1x, then I have the speed of the 970EVO on the whole 1TB. The 860EVO is slower.
What's the point of taking 500 + 500 GB? If the question were now, 1 TB PCIe or 500 GB PCIe + 1 TB SATA, you could still think about it, but that doesn't make any sense. Then just take the 970 Evo. Or, if you are not mainly editing 4K videos, take the Kingston A2000 and save some money.
The lifespan is independent of the interface, regardless of whether you use SATA or NVMe.
The advantage with NVMe is that these SSDs are directly connected via PCI-Express and with PCI-Express 3.0 with 4 lanes that is up to 3.2GB / sec with SATA at 550MB / sec.
The lifespan is influenced by the cells used.
SLC cells have the longest lifespan, they are also the fastest, but can only store 1 bit per cell.
Next comes the MLC cells, which can store two bits per cell, but are a little slower and the shelf life is a bit lower due to the finer gradations of the memory values.
TLC cells and QLC cells store three and four bits per cell, however, are then each a little slower (when writing) and the durability decreases even further.
If you want peace and quiet you should always plan with at least 1TB of memory.
And it doesn't always have to be Samsung. Samsung is not necessarily better than other manufacturers who may be cheaper. In addition to the read / write values, you should also keep an eye on the IOPs (I / O requests per second). The higher this value, the faster the built-in controller and the faster you can copy many small files if necessary.
A station wagon can also be interesting (if the budget is sufficient)

2.5 "Sata SSD are usually a little cheaper than the M2 models and can therefore still be planned as a second SSD. Two independent drives offer the advantage that you can save a backup on the second SSD regardless of the system SSD.
However, the durability of QLC cells is still higher than that of a hard disk, which is why you hardly have to worry about it.
