But new for current games you should also have something current. A graphics card from Nvidia of the GTX 1000, RTX 2000 or the brand new RTX 3000.

The GTX 680 is quite outdated and not recommended. You will have to live with restrictions now.
Depending on my budget, I would rather play with a GTX 1660/1680 or RTX 2060/2080. They are future-proof for a few more years. Of course, the CPU and board should also match. It doesn't help that only the graphics card is a racehorse if it is more likely to paralyze the CPU - even if most of the power comes from the graphics card these days. True to the motto: if you buy cheap, you buy twice.
I can't tell you, I only have a Geforce 960 experience, which was enough for GTA 5 to play. But google there are better ones.
