Is it worth it to get a gtx 750 ti if I already have a graphics card onboard?

My little cousin likes to play on his PC Fortnite and Gta5.

He has a PC with the PC data:

Cpu / Gpu: AMD a10 7850k R7 Graphics

Power adapter: 450 watts

Memory: 8gb (of which 1gb for video card)

Now he asked me if I could not help his little one on his PC for his birthday.

I looked around and informed. For the processor, a gtx 750 ti would be best.

Now the question: is it worth to install a 750 ti or should he rather continue with the current onboard map? So there would be a big difference in the fps and graphics settings?

Or should he rather save half a year to then directly buy a new PC?

An Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti will give your cousin about a factor of 3 more graphics performance than the currently used Radeon R7 iGPU, while the CPU part of the AMD A10-7850K will also benefit. By installing a true PCIe graphics card, the CPU cores have the full bandwidth of the RAM interface for themselves, and in the TDP budget of the Apu remains more for the x86 - Cores.

If he could get a used GTX 750Ti for about 50 euro, it would definitely be worth the investment for gaming… Even on an FM2+ platform with AMD A10-7850K - APU.

He should not invest in the platform itself. The A10-7850K is already one of the fastest APUs on this platform, and DDR3 - Ram is also no longer usable on current Intel platforms, such as AMD.

And if you continue to save on a later platform upgrade, the Nvidia GTX 750Ti is still a much faster GPU part for the transition than any Intel or AMD iGPU on their most advanced platforms.

Even the AMD Vega11 iGPU of the Ryzen 5 - 2400G / 3400G does not crack the rendering performance of a GTX 750Ti.

A GTX 750Ti brings the system but a significant performance boost. Used the card should be relatively cheap (~ 50 €).
A new, good PC costs just over 500 euro.

This Graka actually fits perfectly with the built-in CPU.

On eBay you can find used models:

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-gtx-750-ti/k0

However, I would not buy a passive card. So only a model with one or two fans. These also start to turn only from about 50 ° C to turn.

And screen resolutions up to a maximum of 1680x1050 can still render this graka relatively useful. However, you come with the 2GB V-Ram pretty much to the limits.

I often had to reduce the resolution to ~ 1280x800.

Therefore tinkers with me now a GTX 1050ti (4GB). And my CPU is almost as strong as this A10 7860K.

As I said, I play at 1680x1050 (16:10) and I can play with it so much more reasonably modern.

And also the 1050ti is used on eBay. However, it is of course a bit more expensive than a used GTX 750ti.

Try the https://systemanforderungen.com/ page for a rough overview of the game's suitability.

Incidentally, the built-in power supply is by far enough.

The GTX 750 Ti can be found in the used market for 30 euro.

Ke

Oh the GTX 750Ti you get in the used market for 30-35 euro.

Ke

Look at eBay classifieds. 30-40 euro. That's because many have one. I bought one for 30 euro, runs perfectly and was not a fake ^^

IBhe classifieds is not synonymous 1: 1 Ebay auction. There are different legal systems and responsible operators behind.

Anyone who is a member here should be able to advise and accompany them through the purchase and to direct the correct inquiries and proof to the seller, and in particular to judge.

Exactly u.A. Also this website advisory and accompanying there.

Too much Schindluder happens even in second-hand sales.

In general, I advise you to be careful with cheap offers.

Ke

Of course I understand! I mean that only some sell it cheap. 😄👍🏼
