I ask here for a friend who is not sure if he should upgrade his processor.
He currently has a ryzen 5 1400 with the GTX 1060 6gb.
He occasionally plays games such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, GTA V, Rainbow Six Siege, Far Cry 5, Fortnite, Cs go and League of Legends. In addition to streamed he also often. However, he does not do video editing or anything like that.
What do you say to that? What's your opinion?
If he has the right BIOS and motherboard I would do it. Games require more and more CPU power and that's enough for the 5 2600. Alternatively I would take the 5 1600 which is enough (still) completely.
I think the 1400 is enough. A 2600 is unnecessary.
The 1600 costs but almost the same amount, the 2600 has more power but well 😂
He thinks I have a b450 motherboard from Gigabyte
That's true, but if your friend has an old B350 board, he either has to update the BIOS or buy a new motherboard and that can be a bit expensive.
Edit: If he says like a b450 board it's worth it in my eyes anyway.
The processor is still good enough. As long as he does not get any framedrops thanks to the processor, it is not necessary yet.
But if he wants, do not forget that you still have to upgrade in BIOS upgrade!
Not if he has a b450 board, and he does
Oh ok, did not know he had one
