Upgrade your CPU or GPU?

I have a gtx 1050 ti, ryzen 5 1400 4x3.20ghz on a B350 with 8gb ddr4 ram. But in Fortnite and GTA have no stable FPS when it comes to jerky situations. What should I upgrade now, rather sell my GPU and get a new in the budget of 200 euro eg a rx 580 or better a better CPU?

Kn

Does the RAM run in Dual Channel? In Fortnite should be possible on low to medium settings constant 144 FPS, GTA should also be no problem for the setup.

To find out what exactly limits (probably Graka) just install MSI Afterburner and watch the loads while playing.

Have 1x 8gb ram

Kn

Since you already have the brake. Without Dual Channel your Ryzen will be completely stopped. Nevertheless you can run the MSI Afterburner for fun.

Here is your plan for the future.

Upgrade Ram - again 1x8GB (now)
Ram overclock (now)
Overclocking Ryzen - if not available buy ordinary cooler - will be needed later anyway (Now)
save money for GPU in Beriech rx580 is possible - if you ne ne higher resolution than 1080p also like a larger card - (as soon as money is available, possibly take good offer)
… Nothing
When the 3000s Ryzen series is released, it will be a good idea to take Ryzen 2600 or 2700. (later in the year)

Ei

As others have already said, your CPU and GPU should be enough to play both games well in Full HD at probably medium settings.

My question is, but what does "stable FPS" mean to you? That it can always come to frame breaks is normal in any game in the world and with no graphics card or CPU in the world you always have constant frame rates in games.

If the frame rates in hectic situations do not break below about 40 FPS then everything is OK on average but you should have already 60-70FPS (like synonymous more depending on the claim but then this only pays off with good gaming monitors).

With 200, - €

You should first equip your PC with a second (same) RAM bar. That there are still manufacturers and dealers who only block a bolt, I do not understand.

With the graphics card you may also like to upgrade, but this will take the 200, - € (if the RAM was upgraded) not more. But maybe you find on classified ads someone in your area sold a card (GTX 1060 6GB, RX 480 or RX 580 8GB) used. But because of frauds, I advise to buy only from someone where you can pick up the card and pay cash (Let me show you the card).

So buy new ram and then everything goes?

Kn

I would do that. How much MHz does your RAM have? Best to buy the same stick again or directly a new set.

2400, I've been thinking about buying a new 16gb kit (2x8gb) 3200mhz, is it worth buying more than the same for 60euros?

Kn

I would say yes, that's worth it! However, for example, G.Skill Aegis is sufficient with 3000 MHz. You get that in the 16GB Dual Kit namely already for 75 euro.

You can also sell the old one, then it will pay off.
