Is Counterstrike still playing?

Back in the days of yesteryear, this game was my life. I was absolutely thrilled that times have changed dramatically when it comes to shooter games. Today you will find as good as no game that is so hyped Ok exceptions would be Fortnite or Call Of Duty or Rainbowsix. What has just become of the Counterstrike scene?

I have some friends who are still playing and also try to convince me to play it again, so haha
