Why don't my weapons go gold in Fortnite?

I played Midas in the game because then the weapons would turn gold.

But for me the weapons don't turn gold but only after I've dropped them.

Is this normal or do I have to set something?

You must have it at a gold level

You have to drop the weapon and then release LG after 3 seconds

How does it work?

Destso a higher level you are destso more gold you unlock just go into your locker and then you should be able to edit midas.
