What does leveling bring to Fortnite?

Hi! Some time ago I ventured into Fortnite to try it out. Right at the beginning I noticed that I was collecting EP to get up on the level. What I still ask myself to this day, however, is what do the levels actually bring? You only get these bonus rewards (outfits, accessories, V-Bucks) if you buy the BP. We don't get my character any stronger. So what is the point of leveling up anyway?

Nothing at all unless you buy the BP.

Well except for a free reward, which is included in the BP.

But basically every game has a level function… Otherwise it wouldn't be a real game.

In Chapter 1 you could only earn XP with a completed round or with challenges, so that at level 100 you get a banner that says 100 to show off or something. With Chapter 2, levels are no longer as important to non-Battle Pass buyers, except for the Free Pass rewards. In some season you got banners again, but there was no number on it and therefore nothing cool.

With the Battle Pass you can get gemstone color styles for the Battle Pass skins from level 100. At least this season. Last season it was silver, gold and holo.
