I want to be a full time pro gamer. Dad doesn't allow it?

I play Fortnite for 8 hours a day and up to 14 hours on weekends. I play so well that I almost always win against my friends. I win 3-4 matches a week and receive 40 euro each time I play in my circle. How do I explain to my father that I want to train as a pro gamer?

Just because you play for a long time does not mean that you are good.

That you win against friends doesn't mean anything if they're bad.

You don't have to show off your earnings unless you have won them in the right tournaments.

What training. To my knowledge, this in D is just as little a recognized training profession as influencer or Youtube Star.

If you want to spend all your free time on it, your father can do little except prohibit the computer.

However, if you do not show any determination after looking for a recognized apprenticeship or study after school, it may be that he is released from his maintenance obligation. Not an easy process but possible.

Then you can determine whether profigamer is enough to pay the bills of your own shack.

Do you seriously think that you will bring home at least 1,200 net?

I would recommend you to drive on two tracks: Just continue your school / education / study as planned, but also take part in larger tournaments. If you continue to do well there and earn really relevant money, you will be able to shift your focus more and more.

I think you can only convince your father if you deliver accordingly.

A "Look, dad, I won 2000 euro in a tournament and next month is a new tournament with more prize money. I invest a lot of time in the preparation, I wish you success." is simply more concrete than a diffuse wish in which your father sees no future.

Don't you have any other life?

Doesn't look like it.

School, education, friends?

I would not allow you either, they are purest brain farting you have there.

Take care of a real life. Make money like everyone else. Do a hideout. Go out. Meet friends hobbies in the real world.

Because Fortnite is certainly not your future. Are you getting older, do you want to retire later?

Fortnite will no longer exist in 10 years, but your expenses will remain until you hop into the box

There's no training to become a pro gamer. You can try to get into a team that plays professionally or semi-professionally. You can also try to draw attention to yourself as a streamer and of course play tournaments.

Since you seem to be playing your 60 hours a week, there's obviously nobody standing in your way, so where should your problem be? And you can hardly expect that your father will celebrate you for lost time and effort in a naive, almost hopeless endeavor that otherwise will not advance you privately, personally or professionally…
