I just wanted to ask if there are gamers here (mc, fortnite, …) who still have the Salfeld parental controls on them or educators who have made it to their child / adolescent. How do you as a child / teenager like to play pc with this parental control? Are you getting used to it? Are there less arguments with the educators about pc after the parental controls have been fixed or more? Does child safety lead to a better educator-child relationship?
Probably comes. Maßgebl. What the software should be about and what the child's insight is about it.
Firstly, real gamers do not play fortnite, let alone Mc, and second, if the kid is so young that it does not know how to handle a computer properly, it should not have access to it!
PS: Parental controls are extremely easy to work around and actually do not do anything.
My mother would have packed everything from me. Luckily, I still had a tech-loving father who had stopped her.
So I've been able to visit all the websites I wanted and actually do everything since I was a kid (6/7, I've been a PC kid since, but do not worry, had enough fresh air).
Then came so far that I had 8 games from 12 on the PC and with 10 games from 16. That then did not really please my father, but he was still quite surprised, if not fascinated, that I deal with the matter apparently already knew so well at this age.
Then at the age of 12 I already threw DDOS attacks, luckily only, on Retrohotels (fake versions of habbo.de).
But really bad things or (other) illegal things I never did.
For this I know myself now well with the PC and am in training to be a computer scientist.
I do not think that had the bad influence on me, but whether this is the case with each person, I do not know.
But I'm clearly of the opinion that any restriction or prohibition also restricts a child's creativity (except when it comes to circumventing these prohibitions). But that does not mean that every child should make their own rules, not at all.
