Will shooter and stuff like gta or (fortnite😂) gamble.
I would say, buy yourself, what your graphics card is enough for.
There's no reason (in gaming) to own a video card that is too strong for the monitor. Similarly, it's no good having too good a monitor for which the graphics card can't muster enough power.
Nowadays, every graphics card can get everything out of the screen… He does not want to play on a 2 meter 4k TV
If he e.g. Having a 1060/580 (or lower), more than a fullHD @ 60hz monitor would be pointless wasting money. For higher resolution / Hz he would have to significantly reduce ingame settings.
You do not really mean the gtx 1060? Inform yourself better
Want to say that a 1060 can easily handle 120fps at high settings and fullHD resolution (in games that are not called CS: GO)?
Unfortunately I have to disappoint you.
Personally, I would prefer a better Hz count to every 4k.
On screens up to 27 inches, FullHD is simply enough. Surely you can see the difference from FullHD to WQHD or even UHD. Whether it is absolutely necessary. Well, everyone has to decide for themselves.
Much more important to me is the panel art. There are a few different ones.
From IPS to TN via Oled or VA etc.
IPS panels are good - have nice colors and contrasts. Are largely stable angle. But the reaction time is higher than z.b. For TN panels. TN panels are less colorful.
Unfortunately, there's also a difference in heart rates. As far as I know, 120 hz or more in IPS panels are atypical. So usually IPS has only 60.70 Hz.
TN panels can do much more. 144. + etc. Do not look so good (unless you pay 1000 euro)
Then again there are difficulties with the transmission and processing. For example UHD (4k) + 144 Hz are also rather the exception.
OLED can sum things up quite well.
There are huge resolutions, a lot of heart rate, great colors and contrasts and low reaction times. But the parts ar *** expensive ^^

I would recommend a 21: 9 screen with 29 inches (FHD) or 34 inches (WQHD).
Best both with 120 Hz +. 4K it must be like I said in my opinion NOT.
So I think FHD is enough. Have never used anything else practical, but still. For this I would prefer to set a better refresh rate than a better resolution (in gaming)
Soho. Have a look here a bit.
First the quite normal FullHD 60hz IPS screens for a low price
- 24 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
- 27 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
_____________________________________________________________________________
Then a 4k model with 60hz IPS
- 27 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
_____________________________________________________________________________
Now we go towards 120hz and more. Full HD TN panel
- 24 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
- 27 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
_____________________________________________________________________________
Then another version with 120hz and more with WQHD and TN Panel
- 27 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
_____________________________________________________________________________
And now we're going towards 21: 9 screen (Also Ultrawide).
In "FullHD" with IPS panel, 60hz.
- 29 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
- 34 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
_____________________________________________________________________________
And then another model which is pretty good as well as everything.
Costs the most, has a WQHD resolution, 120 Hz, relatively good colors and contrasts AND is 34 inches tall with a 21: 9 aspect ratio.
- 34 inches https://geizhals.de/...at&hloc=de
Plus, it's worth paying attention to buy a GSync screen IF you have an Nvidia graphics card. If you have an AMD card, look for freesync.
Of course it works without it. With G or Freesync but you have less aberrations etc.
They cost a little more for that.
Whether 2meter 4k or 15cm 4k TV makes no difference. 4k is 4k.
Why do you have to have 120 FPS? Why not 110 or 100 or 90?
2 meters can't only be a problem because of the quality ^^
^^ Nungut, that's another topic - But then does not reflect in the required performance again
You can see the difference between 60 and 120 FPS. Although some claim that the eye can't see more than 60 images per second. This statement is nonsense as far as I know.
In addition, there are always Framedrops. At 120 FPS, the rate then drops. 60.70. And is to be taken absolutely.
If you only have 60 FPS and the rate drops to 20, that's not so nice.
AND in addition it comes that a 120hz monitor z.b. Only makes sense, even if the FPS 120 is.
That you can see the difference between 60 and 120 is clear to me, but you do not need 120 FPS to play fluently… Especially not at Fortnite… To which is a gtx 1060 never in life too weak to run shooter liquid… That say me because I own a GTX 770 with 4gb ram and as far as I know the 1060 is better than the 770 and it still has 2 GB more RAM
My monitor has 144hz and I play GTA 5 in FullHD and have no Framedrops… But I also think that the processor plays a big role in GTA
