Hear my own voice in Fortnite chat?

When I play fortnite with my girlfriend. You other switch and I at the PC I always hear myself talking over the headphones. We're not in the same room does anyone have any idea why?

Is due to your or your girlfriend's headphones

tell her to mute and then talk again

Your friend probably doesn't have headphones or hers are very close to the microphone. Therefore, her microphone picks up your voice through her headphones / speakers and you hear yourself twice.
