Well, I have a question, because I've had a problem for a few days. So I've always played Fortnite with a headset on the Switch, and everything about voice chat worked just fine. In between I also played on the PC (the voice chat still worked [same headset as before]), but with Fortnite I get along better with controllers and have therefore switched again. At Easter I got a PS4 controller so that I could finally play with the controller on the PC. I connected the controller with a cable and then plugged the headset into the controller.
However, the voice chat did not work, but I heard.
At first I thought that it was because I have 2 plugs on the PC, one for sound and one separately for the microphone, but when I opened OBS the microphone still worked.
I then uninstalled Fortnite and installed it again, but it still didn't work. I then tried a lot of settings, with standard devices and the driver and such, but nothing worked. When I wanted to play normally on the switch again, however, the voice chat no longer worked.
I then reset all settings in Fortnite, but nothing worked.
hopefully someone has a solution.
If all else fails… Buy another headset. Perhaps the voice chat is simply not compatible with your copy.
inexpensive variants are available from 30.40 euro. And they are pretty good:
i have e.g. A Logitech wireless headset for 50 euro. In operation for 1 year and works perfectly. Recommendable!
But it can't really be due to the headset itself, since everything went well before: /
