Change Epic Games name?

I recently wanted to change my epicgames name (which is given as the name on fortnite) when I log in to the page and click on the icon to change the name it always says: "Account has to be checked first"! Does anyone know what that means, how I do it and how I can change my name?

You received an email when you registered, you have to search for it now and confirm that this is your account and your email.

We should introduce the death penalty for every Battle Royale player! Especially with computer scientists!

I think you have to log out of epic with an email in the browser and change your name from there or stop in the desktop app

I haven't done it for a long time but I think that's how it went
