Which fritz box?

Which fritz box is good for gaming? (that I have a ping under 30 in fortnite e.g. Public)

br

The router plays a minor role here.

Gu

I have a 7590 with glass fiber 250 and have a 2-pong in Firefox

ma

Ping "under" 30 the ping has little to do with the router model, rather with the settings and your internet connection.

ta

Thanks for nothing

Fl

My recommendation: If it is a DSL or FTTH connection: connect the Fritzbox 7530 or 7590 and then via LAN cable and not via WLAN to the PC or the console.

ma

But now you know that the Wi-Fi router is not something for it, but I can recommend a Wi-Fi router that sends dual.

ta

Okay thanks but why is that important

ma

I do not understand this question.

ta

What's the difference between the two routers?

ta

Why dual is important

Fl

The 7590 has a somewhat more extensive equipment and is therefore a little more expensive. Here is a good comparison table: https://avm.de/...x/dslvdsl/

ta

The 90s version is a lot better isn't it?

Fl

Yes, the 7590 is a bit better equipped. But it depends on whether you also need the additional equipment. Otherwise, the 7530 may be enough.

ta

Where can i see the price?

Fl

Just look at the appropriate dealers, e.g. B. Amazon, Media Markt, Saturn etc. Or use a price comparison on the Internet.

Currently, one can assume around 190 euro for the 7590 and around 115 euro for the 7530.

ta

And how does the monthly cost come about? Can you see them too or is that 190 euro a month?

Fl

No, you would buy the router once and then it belongs to you.

Of course you need a suitable internet connection, e.g. B. At Telekom, 1&1 or another provider of your choice, which incurs monthly costs.

Alternatively, you could rent a Fritzbox 7590 from http://www.routermiete.de if you don't want to buy it.

ta

It would be an upgrade right? Since I use a "three tube" which I think has 300 mbit / s

Fl

Oh, it's about LTE and then also in Austria.

I now assumed a DSL router. The conditions are very different via the mobile network and there are other devices for. You won't get a really good ping over LTE.

ta

Okay rip trzdm thank you. Where is the difference between the old and all the others I don't really know

Fl

LTE is the 4th generation cellular standard (also called 4G). This means that Internet via LTE comes over the air.

Alternatively, you can also get Internet via landline. This can be done either over the telephone landline, over fiber optic cable or over television cable (Coax). It also depends a bit on what is available in your apartment. Usually, however, a fixed line is more stable than the Internet via the mobile network.

ta

Yes I live in a house in the country: /

Fl

Hmm, isn't the internet so well developed yet? Have you ever asked your community or the major providers what is currently possible and whether an expansion is planned.

ta

Do you mean expansion of a landline?

Fl

Exactly

ta

I could ask but why should they do that? I mean I don't even live in the village but rather away from the village…

ta

What is important?

ta

Then what is DSL?

Fl

DSL is Internet via copper cable, i.e. The cable where you used to connect your landline phone in the same way before there was Internet.

The alternative is coax cable. This is the television cable that can now also be used to access the Internet. To my knowledge, this is offered in Austria by Magenta-Telekom (formerly UPC).

And today you usually install fiber optics directly into the house.

ta

Yes… Fiberglass that I'm not laughing. Have a look and so 27 (hopefully I didn't count) European countries laid more fiber optic cables than Austria… Where we have just 2.7% and Germany has 3.7%, the Czech Republic has 19.5%, which I find astonishing. So coax cable is UPC with us?
That's where I got my statistics from)

ma

So there are 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz 5 GHz has a higher repeat strength and is also stronger in reception. It occupies 2 channels. With an old router you only occupy 1 channel.

ta

But doesn't that matter with lan?

Fl

Yes, very few have fiber optics in the house. Therefore either DSL or coax cable. Other routers are often necessary, especially with coax cables. If this is even possible with you, then ask the provider again which router should be used. Yes, to my knowledge this is UPC in Austria. And UPC Austria was recently swallowed by Deutsche Telekom and now operates together with T-Mobile Austria under the new Magenta-Telekom brand.

ta

So in concrete terms, what should I ask my community now? Sorry, I do not know what Einfah is and therefore ask double and triple I'm really sorry

Fl

First of all, check what would be possible with the big providers, e.g. B. With A1 or Magenta Telekom.

https://www.a1.net/internet/festnetz-internet/tarife/s/internet-pur

https://www.magenta.at/internet/internet-zuhause

And if nothing sufficient is possible, it is best to ask the community whether there's an Internet provider who can provide a fast wired Internet connection at your address and, if not, whether an expansion is planned.

ma

Nope, because you most likely have a device with only 2.4 GHz and all your devices connected to the WLAN use this one port. However, if you have 2, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, then the devices share more or less that means that these two ports are used and not just 2.4 GHz, because if 2.4 GHz is not like me ( Family 5 people 2 of them are gamers) I can only recommend a dual router.

ta

How much would that cost?

Fl

I'm not very familiar with the prices of providers in Austria. It's best to check out the websites.
