Specs:
i5 4440
gtx 1050 ti
8 GB RAM
120 gb ssd
500 gb hdd
I want to know whether an upgrade to an i7 4770 would be worthwhile (if I get it for 60 euro) since I have been playing a lot of CPU-heavy games recently, we play Fortnite Cs: Go Valorant Gta Online
and how the CPU is doing
CS: GO also runs under lower CPU performance, just like Fortnite.
Games like GTA IV, Star Wars Battlefront 2, The Last of us 2 or the new Cod and Battlefield require more performance.
CS: GO is already running on my Asus laptop F751S with 4Core 2.56 GHz. HDD 1tb 8gb RAM.
An i5 with this configuration is sufficient for high-resolution games.
Where you should increase, maybe an upgrade to 2tb hdd would be a better graphics card and 16GB RAM.
OK
The utilization of the cpu is quite high, much higher than that of the graphics card, it would really not make more sense to upgrade the cpu
The i5-4440 has a relatively low base and turbo clock. (3.1 to 3.3 Ghz)
An i7-4790K would already have a 4.0 Ghz base clock and would then actually deliver at least 30% more basic performance than the 4440 alone with a guarantee. (costs used about 150 euro)
I7-4770 would be a certain crucial question. It only goes from 3.5 to a maximum of 3.9 Ghz (single core turbo)
With CS: GO and Valorant you would probably not have much of the SMT virtual threads in the basic performance, apart from the 15% more basic clock.
GTA Online could at least benefit from SMT additionally in the Minimum_FPS (99th. Percentile), and also with Fortnite SMT brings more clock / higher IPC more than 4 cores + SMT. In a direct comparison between Ryzen 3 - 2200g and R5-2400G, the SMT in Fortnite brings almost nothing noteworthy.
I get 44 fps when I drive quickly through the area in gta online (720p medium) 20 to 30 percent gpu utilization high cpu utilization would improve that
So with the i7
GTA 4?
Can you roughly estimate the FPS percentage with per Mhz increase. SMT only stabilizes the minimum FPS a little further.
1080p instead of 720p should hardly bring any relevant FPS losses on your current hardware in this game without changes to the game preset.
Ne meant GTA 5
An i7 4790 would be better right?
60 euro would be a bit too much for the processor. But you can do that.
