Input lag ps5 mouse keyboard?

As already announced, the ps5 will have 120 fps. Do you think that reduces the input to mouse and keyboard?

E.g. Fortnite on ps4 with a mouse and keyboard is unplayable

This has nothing to do with the FPS, these FPS can only be achieved with a television or monitor with an HDMI 2.1 connection.

No, in 1080p also with HDMI 1.4 …

Could be good. Sony has not yet said anything about this, including mouse & keyboard support. My tip: build a PC.

Anyone who plays with a mouse and keyboard on a Sony console is really upset.

But let's leave that out of the picture.

The FPS have nothing to do with the input lag of the mouse and keyboard. Only the screen reacts faster. At 60hz, for example, you play with a 14ms response time, at 120hz you play with a 7ms response time. Nevertheless, it will be unplayable on a Sony Playstation console to play with a mouse and keyboard, because they are not designed for that.

The competition, for example, strongly supports the mouse and keyboard, and there's also a new technology that enables Xbox players to have very low latency from the controller to the console, from the console to the screen. This technology is not available on the Playstation and it will remain that way for the time being, because such a feature can't simply be sequenced.

If you want to play on the mouse and keyboard, then you better get a PC, if you don't have the money then I recommend you to buy an Xbox, as the mouse and keyboard support is much greater with this than with a Playstation.

But then it hardly makes any sense.

As BlockenOwnz has already described, you can also experience with HDMI 1.4 120hz but only with 1080p.

ca

Why do you think it doesn't make sense?

no

Hardly believe that the 120hz can be achieved in a higher resolution when you consider that even an exclusive like demons souls only runs at 1440p 60fps.

That would be my next point.

If you have a Playstation 5 then a 1080p monitor or television is sufficient. Because the Playstation has problems with most games in 4K. Unfortunately, many therefore have to be scaled up. Welcome to 2016.

In addition, Sony doesn't even have a 1440p mode. At least with the current Ps4 pro - I doubt that it will change with the Ps5. Because it is not a big update from the Ps4 pro to the Ps5. Because neither can keep most games in 60fps and 4K can almost only be upscaled.

cu

What is this special technology called? Do you have a source for that? Can you please add this?

cu

And to what extent is the support with mouse and keyboard significantly greater? Up until now, it was always up to the developer to decide whether he would allow the appropriate support.

ca

The technology is called DLI (Dynamic Latency Input)

ca

It depends on the developer, yes, but if a game is supported, it often has problems with latencies and the like, that is, you have really high latencies with mouse and keyboard on a Playstation.

Microsoft has already implemented a technology for the Xbox One series (LLM - Low Latency Mode) that reduces the input lag

Pe

Okey thank you

cu

I know ALLM, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the peripherals used, but only automatically activates the lowest latency mode of the respective display / television.

That would be more like DLI, but you mentioned it elsewhere.

ca

Unfortunately it is not described for what which function is, but good to know that (A) LLM is only intended for screens, I always thought that was a general thing
