Which processor for my computer?

I'm looking for a new processor for my PC and would like to stream it with as few performance losses as possible while playing.

I chose the Ryzem 7 3700X and now I want to know if it is not too fast and I should prefer a Ryzem 5 3600 (X), which is 1080p gaming and games like Fortnite and CoD MW Possibility to run over the processor (software) in order to have as little performance loss as possible.

PC Specs:

GTX 1660Ti Kfa2
Asus Prime A320M-K
Crucial Ballistix 2 × 8GB 3200Mhz (but is operated at 2666Mhz due to the current processor (Ryzen 5 2400G))
Coolermaster Masterbox H500 (2 × 200mm in the front and the rear fan removed)
600Watt power supply (Coolermaster Masterwatt Lite)

The graphics card is not that good. Even the Ryzen 5 3600X would be far too good for that.

Gu

For an R7 3700x you need a B450 board (generally for Ryzen 3000)

Pu

I would say that a ryzen 5 3600 is enough for your system. I have one myself and find it great

Gu

Of course you think it's great because you have it yourself, right? Otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

Ed

@ liss02666 not so good is relative. Your "answer" does not help me much. Do I notice a difference between the processors when I stream over software?

Pu

Have you never had anything that you didn't like afterwards?

ch

No, you will notice absolutely no difference.

Ed

Now it starts again (sorry if it sounds bad, it shouldn't be). My mainboard has been supporting the 3000 series since the Bios update and the VRMs are sufficient if I don't overclock.

Ed

@ Gabs69420 Did you test it for streaming too? Because I know when gaming I will not feel any difference between the Ryzen 5 3600 and the Ryzen 7 3700X, it is about whether it makes a difference when streaming.

Pu

I think you can stream it cleanly

Ja

This works out. From the GPU, too, but I would still recommend the R7, because it is much faster.

The mainboard would be… Not my choice. It will work, but it is powerfully pointless. I have never seen anyone combine such a powerful processor with such a cheap motherboard.

The VRMs are my main concern, you just can't do an OC (which I really always do at Ryzen).

Ed

@ JKL213 I already have the mainboard and therefore I will not replace it. It is not that bad either. The peo-processor is already a bit "overpowered" for the graphics card and I therefore did not really want to overclock. I also think I have an above-average airflow through my housing.

P.S. If I were to assemble a completely new PC, I would also use a different mainboard.

Will the Ryzem 7 3700X be able to be used at full capacity? Do I really notice an advantage over the Ryzen 5 3600X when streaming?
