New PC too bad?

I bought a new stand PC, which should actually serve to improve my gaming experience a little. I never wanted to buy a high-end PC, so I had one put together that can play a running game constantly. Well, I can get the 180FPS, but there's a problem and there are FPS drops every 10 to 15 minutes which let me experience the games at 10 FPS.

This then lasts for about a minute and then regulates itself again. However, this is extremely exhausting, especially in games like Apex, WarZone or Fortnite, when you first have to try to survive for a minute and the PC is the final boss and not the opponent.

Here is a list of things that are built into my PC, I have to say, I have no idea about PCs and would like to know where I could add or replace something in order to fix the problem…

Operating system: Windows 10

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor 3.70 GHz

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series

RAM: 16GB

SSD: KINGSTON SA400M8240G

HD: TOSHIBA HDWD110

In addition, 2 fans are installed that "should" cool the CPU.

The drivers are usually updated.

I hope that this information is "enough" to possibly draw conclusions.

Fi

16 GB RAM is a bit imprecise.

Are the 2 fans really supposed to cool the CPU?

Or are they just in the housing.

Ja

Sounds like a software bug. Windows up to date? Driver all current? Uninstall & reinstall times.

Fi

Install this here and let the CPU, GPU and RAM usage and temperature be displayed.

As well as FPS.

You can then see whether there are inconspicuous values in these "phases".

It has less to do with it, but: First I would install Windows and the games on the SSD (the faster of the HDD and SSD).

If there's no cooler directly above the CPU but only the one on the case, the problem has already been found.

Otherwise just close background programs that are not necessary and play around with the graphic settings.

Shadows and visibility as well as Fov are resource-consuming.

Then check whether the drivers are up to date.

Jo

I would have said now that the RAM is running full, but that is actually rather unlikely with 16GB… Every 10-15min is also a strange range… I would almost say the problem is with software that loads your PC at certain intervals… Maybe something also overheats, although it doesn't actually stop and only comes back after 10 minutes… Hard to say… Someone with a clue should be watching

you can watch my mandatory cleaning video -> CCleaner is only recommended to a limited extent and can also cause problems -> Before the discussions about it start again:-)

ke

I would check the temperatures there.

In addition, 2 fans are installed that "should" cool the CPU.

Aren't they more like case fans? Let's see what exactly cools what.

Graphics card and processor should actually have enough power. Unfortunately, the RAM and the graphics card are not specified more precisely.

Sorry forgot link

F4 3000c16s 8gisb (I was able to see that in the RAM when I opened it)

A BeQuiet fan is installed directly on the CPU and a case fan that aims directly at the CPU is stupid.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about the graphics card except what I described above: /

lo

I had already tried it before, had reset the entire PC and unfortunately it was still there: /

lo

One of them is at least attached directly to the CPU, the second from BeQuiet is, I think, a case fan

Fi

Ok, try that with the video that I sent

Jo

Which mainboard is in there? 🙂

lo

I tried, I noticed that the GPU often fluctuates between 14 - 99% utilization! Can that have anything to do with it?

lo

Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. / Model: B450M S2H V2

Fi

This is actually normal.

Is it like this all the time or only in these phases?

lo

So I have to say, yesterday I opened the housing on one side, since then I haven't had these "phases" anymore. However, the load fluctuated consistently from low to maximum load.

Fi

Hmm, maybe there's not enough ventilation.

Can you send a picture from your PC or something? Maybe you can add fans to it.

ke

RAM and CPU cooler fit like this. That is not the problem.

For the graphics card, it would be interesting to know whether it is the 4 GB or 8 GB version. You can see that in the task manager
