Why does Fortnite use so little CPU?

Set up:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700x - Ryzen Master installed - Multithreading enabled

NVIDIA 1080 driver installed

Fornite consumes of both permanently less than 50% … Sounds good first… But it is not, because I have a 240Hz monitor and would like to at least a little note of it, but permanently play with 80-200 FPS. But I prefer 80% utilization and then permanently 200-240 FPS. Multithreading in Fortnite is on!

This is due to the relatively poor multi-threaded scaling of the Unreal Engine 4 in combination with the relatively low single-thread performance of the Ryzens. With a corresponding Intel just go there just a little more.

Fortnite can barely translate more than 4 core / 8 threads into more base speed. In this game, even in Full HD @ Maximum Details, the CPU limit beats almost 1: 1 in relation to the IPC and core clock of the respective CPU (each per core). Look here:

In the 3rd diagram with the measurements of the FPS, the Ryzen 7-1800X can only settle for about 10% of the Ryzen 5 - 2400G at the middle FPS.

Thus, some cores of your CPU at Fortnite will be completely bored, and the graphics card can't be faster because it has to wait for the data from the CPU.
