Is it worth upgrading from an i7 7700k to a Ryzen 7 3800x. I have a RTX 2070 Super and I'm definitely satisfied with it, but since I play Fortnite in eSports, I notice a large input delay in many situations with which I really have problems. If I also switch on the view for the input delay in the settings, I get a delay of up to 20ms in some places. I suppose this is due to my processor as it was released a few years ago.
You're not that good that 20 ms make itself felt.
Keep the 7700K and wait until the price of the Ryzen 5 5600X drops to or below RRP (299 euro). Is significantly better in games than the 3800X
Yes, the CPU is already bottlenecking. An upgrade would definitely be worthwhile, but remember that you also need a different or new mainboard. Possibly new or faster ram. Depending on whether there's the budget
No, the i7 7700k is still strong enough today that it is not bottlenecked. At least not with my 3080.
