Fortnite voice chat doesn't work with controller over pc?

I play Fortnite on the pc, when I have connected my mouse and keyboard I can hear everything and also talk myself. But as soon as I plug in my controller, I can still hear everyone, but they can't hear me. If I plug the connections directly into the controller, I no longer have any gamesound but can talk and hear the others.

anyone have an idea how i can change it to work?

Go into your Windows sound settings and activate your controller as a recording device.
