Operate 500 watt graphics card with 350 watt power supply?

I ordered an nvidia rtx 2060 from Gigabyte almost 4 days ago. However, when I saw today that you need about 500 watts for the rtx 2060, and my power supply (Corsair vs 450, which only has about 350 watts), I wanted to ask if it would make sense to use a 500 watt power supply to change, or whether 350 watts are enough.

(I will mainly use the graphics card to play games like Fortnite or Call of Duty.)

Kh

Why does your 450 watt power supply only have 350 watts? If so, yes, but the vs 450 has 450 watts and that shouldn't be a problem. But buying an RTX 2060 is pretty stupid.

Bl

Too little watt too little power that's not good

buy the RTX 2080 Super or ti

Wa

The card doesn't need that much and its power adapter also has more watts. Ergo it will run.

Bl

Oh well, okay

Za

Your power supply has 450 watts, hence the name Corsair VS450!

450 watts should be enough, the graphics card has a rather low TDP, not as you wrote that it draws 500W…

You can confidently continue to use the power supply!

Za

What brings him a better graphics card? It needs more electricity…

Za

The 2060 is not that bad…

But yes, 6GB VRAM is very little…

Kh

The 5600xt is cheaper and faster

Cl

Now not so thick, according to the manufacturer ne 2060 has 170W, the grakas from nvidia are overall more economical than AMD.

Here in comparison, pay attention to the consumption!

Bl

If he wants something for the future it would be better I only had problems with the 2060 and 2070

Ei

350W would be too little for an RTX 2060, but you have a Corsair VS 450 that can deliver 450W permanently, and that should be enough for your RTX 2060.

Of course, it depends on the rest of the system, but with normal computers without overclocking, a 450W power supply shouldn't be a problem.

Gl

My money was only enough for ne 2060 haha,

and the jump from an AMD r9 270x to an rtx 2060 is good.

Bl

Yeah okay

Gl

Thank you!

Gl

Thank you!

Za

Nope, the 2060 clearly overtakes the 5600 XT in some games.

In addition, she has ray tracing…

Kh

Probably in the past

Za

But the question was whether his power supply was sufficient…

Za

No, still xD For example in GTA V

And as I said, ray tracing

Kh

The 2060 is anyway too slow for ray tracing and in bf5 the amd is significantly faster

Za

Well, in FHD it packs with RT on low to medium!

And that's true with BFV, but then you have to decide which games to play and which graphics to match
