Does a bad monitor affect a recording?

I have an ancient 60hz monitor that doesn't even have an HDMI connection (use an adapter) and with more complex games like fortnite I have such a distorted image when moving quickly (although I would still have 240fps on ultra and already have all settings through even the lowest)

if i record jz with obs, does the recording suffer because of my monitor?

or is the problem somewhere else and my monitor is not the problem?

one way or another will get a new one soon

Ma

You have to "drag down" the output in the Fortnite settings to 60 Fps, otherwise it won't work…

Er

Yes i have so normally that is why i said "would have 240 fps" in theory

Ma

Yeah, then I don't know either, maybe it really ends up on the screen.

Er

I've already played on the same screen with ps4. The problem is not that bad

Ac

No, it doesn't matter

Fe

An OBS recording is also made in 60fps. More would only result in extremely large files

If the picture is distorted, it is because of your grotty monitor or adapter.

Er

I also connected the pc to my relatively new smart tv and there's the same problem

Er

I just made a recording and the distortion can also be seen (watch the video on my mobile phone)

Er

I just made a recording and the distortion can also be seen

so would you say it's not the monitor?

Fe

Do you mean tearing

Ac

I wouldn't just say it's like that.

Er

Yes

Fe

Yes that is normal if you send a 60hz monitor more than 60fps, it is only better with Vsync

Er

So is it normal that my recording also has tearing?

so i just need a new monitor?

and yes with

vsync that looks better thanks

Fe

You can also set an FPS limiter to 120 should also work well 240 should also work but you will not be able to manage it consistently and then there will be tearing.

Er

Play with 60fps until my monitor comes. Vsync also makes it down to 60fps and I just noticed in window mode it's not half as bad (for whatever reason)
