Fortnite level is reset?

Me and a friend just went into fortnite on because now the new season starts and we were previously level 155 and level 196 and now we were somehow completely reset. We're now level 1 but a youtuber (standartskill) with something before 300 was is now 108 I think…

I always thought you kept your level, is that normal?

Standart Skill has bought the Battle Pass in full. That's why he's 108. You don't keep your level.

You never keep your level, you have to start leveling each season from scratch or just like some YouTubers you buy the BattlePass and all associated levels.

The Battle Pass only counts for one season
