I bought a gaming PC a week ago (assembled it myself). Everything works great as it should be. But if I e.g. I'm in Fortnite and want to go back to my desktop but still have Fortnite open, it always hangs. At the latest when I e.g. Wants to go into another application. I may well.
Can be due to many things… Power adapter?
Power supply and graphics card have already been replaced
How many watts do you have?
560
How old is it, maybe the hard drive is just old and can't take it?
A week old
I meant whether the new or used was bought.
Achso completely new
Which processor, how much RAM do you have?
Have you ever checked the hard drives for errors or for performance
It would help us a lot if we had some information about your PC.
CPU, GPU, power supply, mainboard, RAM, operating system, etc?
I do not know how big your PC is, but if it is powerful and consumes a lot it will be very scarce with 560 watts.
It uses the background when using Fortnite and the desktop, it may exceed it and your PC may hang up because of this. You have to calculate your watt consumption on the Internet by writing down the graphics card etc.
If everything is in normal use and nothing exceeds, then it is a normal mistake.
I often switched to the desktop and my PC hung up until I reinstalled the particular game or went through the settings.

OK thanks, I'll give it a try

I know the problem.
Unfortunately, this is not so easy to explain without a bit of IT knowledge:
Your GPU (graphics card) clocks up and down, depending on the load. The problem is that when you are in the game, it logically clocks up. But if you now switch to the desktop - and the game is still open - the graphics card will keep its (core) voltage for a short time and since there's no load, it will clock up until it crashes or your image freezes.
The next time that happens you can restart the graphics driver, this works with the key combination: Win + Ctrl + Shift + B.
With Windows!
You can only wait for a new driver permanently and hope that it will be solved. I have eliminated it by adjusting the tensions and clocks. However, this requires prior knowledge and a lot of time.
Have you ever tested the hard drives with a program for errors and checked the speed
OK thank you!
Yes everything is good
I just did the 3DMark Time Spy test and it hung up again
When in the test?
How when in the test?
Oh, if you mean that, in the end I come back to a loading screen
Were you able to restart the driver? If the problem occurs so often, consider sending the card back and making use of the guarantee.
