When I try to open Fortnite it says that an update is available but when I go to the launcher there's no update and the game appears to be running?

If the launcher says it has no updates, then you should be able to start it from the launcher too.

Click where your games are on Fortnite, if it says play, start it from there.

In an emergency, only a new installation will help.
