I have been playing Fortnite Chapter 2 for a month and am now medium. However, I wanted to ask if jmd has tips and tricks or good landing spots.
It's best to stop. Haste instantly won
In normal solo / duo / team rounds I / we mostly end up at Sweaty Sands.
The advantage is that there's a lot of loot and there are also some fishing spots nearby. You usually get a heavy sniper rifle and a minigun if you go to the henchman base that lies between Sweaty Sands and Holly Hedges.
In tournaments, I end up at The Shark in my first round to get the mythical scar and the gripper and thus make as many eliminations as possible. Then more in safe places, where there are few opponents.

A few more tricks that have helped me to get better:
Mouse sensitivity
If you play on the PC, you should have a low sensitivity. Up to Season X I played with 2400 DPI, now with 800 DPI. Most professional gamers have an even lower DPI.
Zone Wars / Scrims
There are separate discords. Such modes really help you a lot no matter what platform you play Fortnite on.
Watch live streams
I have noticed myself that I get better when I watch good players like Benjyfishy, Mongraal or Aqua when they stream.
