What do video games bring to your life?

Just had a rage quit in Fortnite. The game just bows so hard. I wonder now why you actually play video games and what brings you in life. Of course, all because of the fun factor but do not just play it bland video games and are a huge waste of time? I'm definitely going to gamble less in the future and make some of my life because I'm just sick of watching 1/4 of my life on Instagram looking at other photos or shooting computer-animated people. Why the hell are ALL guys playing video games and wasting their time. I also noticed that video games severely limit our human abilities (for example, communication, etc.). If you spend a week without your mobile phone, you are much better in communication. What do you think? Do you play so much?

At the moment I do not really play but I have occasional stages in which I play a lot.

Games are just fun and make it possible to do things that are not possible in real life, that's what makes their appeal. They are entertainment media, as books or films can be, but with their very own advantages and disadvantages.

However, video games are not restrictive, on the contrary, it has even been observed that games can enhance certain abilities, such as hand-eye coordination, reflexes, logical, strategic and tactical thinking, resource management etc. Etc.

Some games are even used in psychotherapy and a game has solved in a short time a problem that scientists could not solve for decades.

Communication skills do not improve with the abandonment of devices or media, but through communication itself.

Why do you read books, watch TV, go to the movies, etc. It's primarily recreational activities, which have a fun factor or something, but in life, not necessarily advance.

On the other hand, there are also video games through which, e.g. Learning something, exercising his logical thinking or even improving his communication skills. So things that can help one in life, it always depends on the game.

But to work or to learn is not good in the long run. Sometimes you have to switch off / relax and you can do that with a video game. So it also depends on how you divide your time. So spending less time on useless things can be good, but you should still take the time to have fun.

I also enjoy playing video games, sometimes more than I should. As long as the private / professional life does not suffer, I find it ok for me.

Several years after my graduation, I still have contact with almost all my school friends. And for a reason: online games. Every evening we meet, usually four or five in Teamspeak, chat with each other, and often play together, mostly LoL, sometimes Stellaris or Overwatch. That was already the case at school, and that's the way it is now, a few years later. Even if we study in different places, sometimes also abroad, we see each other every day, not in this, but at least in a virtual world. It also makes it easier for us to organize meetings in the real world.

Many games require and promote skills such as reflexes, strategic thinking and teamwork, since we're in the TeamSpeak, of course we also have communication. I do not see why human abilities should atrophy here. Of course, it's also a risk. Anyone who ever treats Fortnite alone may become a cellar child.

Maybe you should also try other games.

I play every day for several hours, mostly with my friends, most of whom I already know from school and whom I also meet in "real" regularly. Online games help us stay in touch because they provide us with a virtual world that we can be together, even if one or the other sits in a different country.

Of course, there are also single player games, which are of course mainly pastime, as well as movies, books, etc. Bidding. Forget everything around you and have fun in another world. However, I prefer online games because I enjoy playing with my friends more.
