My focus is on gaming (Fortnite) and I don't know whether to get the Ryzen 7 3700X or the i7 8700k. Are there any recommendations? And maybe at the same time recommend a cooler that would allow me to overclock.
Definitely a 3700X. Cooler? What do you want to spend?
So I'll get my motherboard and CPU cooler at the same time. If you really think that the Ryzen CPU is better, although I still have my doubts about it, I would get this with the stock cooler and an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F gaming motherboard. If it were then 400 euro and more, I would not like to spend.
With Fortnite you won't notice any big differences, my recommendation is also the Ryzen 3700x, because you are significantly better with AMD than with Intel in terms of price-performance ratio. Of course, if you want to overclock heavily, that doesn't work so well with AMD, the Ryzen processors don't overclock as much as the Intel processors, I also have a Ryzen 3700x and only clocked it up by a few 100MHz, but then reduced the voltage to save electricity and waste heat. Incidentally, the Ryzen 3700x is currently on offer at Mindfactory for 280 euro

Personally, the 100 euro surcharge at Intel would not be worth it, partly because the power consumption of the i7 8700k is 30W higher than that of the Ryzen 7 3700x

For Fortnite alone, a Ryzen 3600 would actually be sufficient if you want to save something
Thank you, I have this page open the whole time xD. Do you play Fortnite and can rate the FPS? Otherwise I trust you. It just confuses me a little that the Ryzen has 2 more cores, but the Intel is better for gaming overall. But then I'll probably get the Ryzen.
The Intel i7-8700k is out, you no longer buy it. Take the Ryzen 7 3700x in combination with 2x 8 GB DD4 3600 MHz RAM. The MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max is recommended as the mainboard. As a CPU cooler, I would use the beQuiet Dark Rock 4 (Pro).
Okay, I'll take a look at it all. My plan was to stay overclocked to 3200mhz with my 16gb 3000mhz and then buy the Ryzen 7 3700X with a stick cooler and an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F gaming motherboard. Is that also recommended?
Also fits. However, overclocking is not possible with the stick cooler
The ryzen 7 3700x because the i7 8700k is out of date.
Now the i5 10600k was recommended to me again. Is it better than the Ryzen 7 3700X?
In terms of the benchmarks, roughly comparable to the i7-8700k (whereby benchmarks are always only a relative thing, in practice everything can differ a little)

Power consumption would also be better here with the Ryzen 30W, but in the end you won't notice a big difference with Fortnite.
