6gb GPU or 8gb GPU for the future?

Selam I would like to buy a PC in the near future, which could possibly stream and on which games like gta and Fortnite etc should run. I got advice from a friend and he tells me that a 6gb GPU is no longer worth it and that I should definitely take an 8gb GPU, where I would only consider an Rx 5700. But since it has a strong price and I see a 1660 Super which also has good ratings but only has 6GB VRAM, I wanted to ask if 6GB would be sufficient for the next 4-5 years.

4-5 years is a long time.

If you now take a GTX960 (this is about 5 years old) you will find that you can hardly do anything.

It depends on your resolution, if you play in 1080p 6GB are currently sufficient.

A GTX1660super is not a bad 1080p GPU.

If you have the choice, you are better off with an RX5700 8GB.

Okay thanks for the help I still have a question, although how future-proof would an Rx580 or 590 be?
