I got a pc 3 years ago with the following components:

Graphics card: GT 1030

-Processor: 4x i5-6400k

-Mainboard: MS-7971

-Power adapter: I unfortunately do not know the name but I know that it is net good and has 650 watts

Hard disk: ssd with 231gb

Housing: Sharkoon VG5-W

RAM: 8GB RAM

I was able to play Fortnite in 1280x720 with 60 fps, now I have the rtx 2060 oc 6gb and see only minimal improvement I can't even play smoothly in 1600x900. The graphics card is in the upper slot of the mainboard. The PC gets warm during fortnite gaming even though I play in 1280x720, when I set in the nvidia settings that I have more fps, it gets warmer and loud

How is the occupancy? The CPU or GPU at 100%

It's best to test with a real game and not something like fortnite.

In online games, the ping times can also cause bad FPS.

Sh

Shouldn't I just take fortnite because it needs too much power or because it needs too little

mi

You should achieve around 100 FPS in the highest settings… 😊

Is the monitor connected to the RTX 2060?

Have you already reinstalled the graphics card driver?

Is the RTX 2060 in the game as a graphics adapter?

In the worst case, reinstalling Windows may help.

Ge

Fortnite is a game where hardly a stable fps will have, especially not with high graphics settings.

Your new graphics card is a real overkill for the rest of your computer. The processor is no longer up-to-date and is not intended for gaming, and 8GB of RAM are also very little. If you want to have a good gaming experience, you also need to upgrade at these points.

Do you still have an exact name for the mainboard?

It is normal for the computer to warm up to a certain point. Do you hate the boxed cooler for your Intel? And what about case fans, is the waste heat conducted outside or does everything stay in the system?

Sh

Yes everything is correct, I will take a look before I do it

mi

I have read the same problem 10 times in the last few weeks that the new graphics card is just as slow as the old one… Really a strange problem, maybe even deleting the nVidia driver via DDU… And then reinstalling it?

Sh

How does it work

Sh

I play on 1280x720 because everything runs smoothly but at 1600x900 no longer and I have everything on low

Sh

I think it all goes out. A friend advised me to buy the amd ryzen 7 2700 for 160 euro because it is good and cheap and then I would also have money to improve my mainboard and power supply

mi

Here you will find a small manual and the download link from DDU: https://winfuture.de/...,3390.html

You can also search for DDU with Google for more tips and INFOs:-)

Sh

OK thanks

Fa

Yes, I would really advise you to revise the whole system. The ryzen 7 is a good choice, but you also need a new mainboard with an am4 socket.

Sh

My friend said that my current one would have to fit in but I had to buy the mainboard processor and power supply all at once

Fa

No, I can guarantee you 100% that you can't install an AMD CPU in an Intel socket. But if you buy a new mainboard anyway, that is not a problem, just make sure that the CPU and Mainbosrd are compatible

RTX 2060 6GB sufficient? jo joselynberry
