Hey I'm writing this question from my little cousin's PC. It currently has an AMD A10-7890K with the integrated GPU. He complains that Fortnite is running low FPS on the lowest graphics. With the help of his father, I would now install a GPU for him. So his dad will pay for it and I'll put them in and get the drivers.
Now the question is, which GPU is recommended for the processor?
He mainly plays GTA SA, Fortnite and ROBLOX.
16GB DDR3 Dual Channel RAM are built in and overclocked by me to 1866MHz. Unfortunately I don't know the other specs like board and so.
Which GraKa do you recommend? So it should be under 400 euro.
Ne GTX 1050 Ti used. In case of doubt also a GTX 1650, but not the super one. A stronger card makes no sense with the crutch of the processor and both cards are available without an additional 6-pin power connector, which may prevent problems with the power supply.
The AMD A10-7800 series is technically very sluggish due to its old bulldozer architecture and thus relatively close to the technical status of around 2012/2013.
In max. FHD resolution makes little more sense on this old APU than an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050Ti / GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 570-4GB for the games mentioned.
In addition to the graphics card, depending on the computer, a new power supply unit may be required in the worst case, if not even a mainboard for some very restrictive OEM computers.
In higher detail settings, both with GTA V (with GTA SA I don't know the degree of optimization) and with Fortnite, the CPU part of the A10-7890K becomes the limiting part.
If the father is willing to spend up to 400 euro for a system upgrade, then I would consider the old platform against an AMD motherboard with socket AM4, A320 chipset and either a Geforce GTX 1050Ti / GTX 1650, or a Radeon RX 570-4G to be replaced.
In addition an AMD Ryzen 3 - 1200 / 1300X or 2200g and 2 × 4 GB DDR4 - 2667 to DDR4 - 3000 - RAM.
Already a Ryzen 3-1200 would bring about 50 to 60% more per core & Mhz than the two modules of the A10-7890K with fictitiously the same clock.
A Geforce GTX 1050Ti / GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 570-4G would in turn add "factors" more graphics performance than the integrated Radeon R7-Series iGPU of the A10-7890K.
My little cousin doesn't come that often and whenever he can he comes and wants to play what I play, that's why I'll be upgrading the board, the CPU and the RAM in 2-3 years. Can use my old RAM. If I buy a RX580 then I'll build my old 1050 there.
For 400 euro you could easily raise the entire platform performance on all levels.
You've been here at Girlfriend for a long time, and that's why I'm telling you that an A10-7890K in the CPU part itself would not even come close to a Core i3-4130 or even i5-4440.
A Ryzen 3 - 1200 could almost compete with an i5-4400.
Fortnite in particular is very heavily CPU-limited in competitive settings.
If I get ne RX580
then I install my old 1050 there.
That's an announcement if your cousin hasn't installed a "real" graphics card in his system.
Could easily bring it 2 - 3 times more graphics performance compared to the iGPU of its A10-7890K.
I changed my mind, get me a GTX 1660S and then give him the 1050 as I said.
Compared to the Radeon R7-Series iGPU within the A10-7890K with your GTX 1050, it will already experience a significant performance boost on the system by at least a factor of 2 to 2.5. ☺👍
