Fortnite graphics settings 16 GB RAM?

I like to play Fortnite with my laptop, I would like to optimize the game's settings for my 16 GB of RAM, because unfortunately there's often something stuck or not properly calibrated - so I aim at something, but also hit it according to the PC, I missed it. Does anyone here have any tips for me?

ly

The RAM usage is irrelevant to your goal.
RAM does not have to be "calibrated" manually.
The game uses as much RAM as necessary. There's no point in adding more artificially.

This assumption is probably due to the fact that in the Java version of Minecraft the Java VM can be manually allocated more than the standard, rather small amount of RAM.
But this only applies to Java applications.
Fortnite doesn't run in a VM that needs to be allocated RAM.

Co

Whether 8 or 16GB ram is practically irrelevant for fortnite. What kind of graphics card do you have in your laptop?

Mu

Your Ram has very little to do with the graphics settings… And even less do you have to "optimize" Ram

Bl

You don't have to change anything yourself. The game takes as much RAM as it needs and 16GB is more than enough for Fortnite.

The rest of your hardware would be much more interesting to know. Maybe there's the mistake?

Vi

RAM can't or does not need to be calibrated. Getting the graphics card to use more RAM also makes no sense. Because it divides its RAM itself.

At most you can set all graphics settings to the limit, and the load will not be at 100%.

Pu

I have the Intel uhd graphics 620

Co

Then screw everything down and hope that it is bearable. UHD Graphics 620 is a processor-integrated graphics chip and not a graphics card of its own, which means your laptop is not made for gaming.

Co

He only has an intel UHD 620 onboard as can be read in the comment in my answer, so gaming is difficult.

ly

And there's the problem. The GPU is relatively weak and has to use the system RAM, which is rather slow for shader calculations

Co

"GPU"

ly

Ne iGPU, but yes, it's ne GPU.

Pu

I have an Intel Core i7 processor (8th generation), Win10 Pro, x64 and two integrated hard drives with 300 GB and 1TB if that helps

Pu

Oh okay, so that's the problem, thank you!

Pu

But now you can't do anything without any rebuilt / new PC, can you?

Co

Correct. You could connect an external graphics card, but the case for it probably costs more than your laptop, so it's difficult.

Pu

Okay, thank you very much for your help!

Co

Gladly

Mu

Yes… That's right… But what do you expect? The now ram does the graphics? 😅😂

Co

What i expect I'm not the questioner. Seems like the poster expected this, got enlightened and now knows more than before. It is great.

Bl

Yes, it is not due to the RAM but to your igpu. You can turn down the graphics settings, use the performance mode from fortnite, which was specially developed for hardware weak devices and try your luck with it. More is not possible.

Mu

That is too imprecise and the rest doesn't really have anything to do with performance

Bl

I just saw it now. Fortnite's performance mode could possibly help a little. More is not possible 🙈

Pu

Unfortunately, I don't know my way around that well

Mu

(sry but) you can tell.
